William Robert Edwards lll, known as "Bob," passed away peacefully at home on August 7, 2024, at the age of 89. He was born to Mr. Victor Edwards and Lina Smith Edwards on February 26, 1935, in RobJohn, Alabama.

Bob embodied resilience, creativity, and a zest for life. He was a remarkable man who left an indelible mark on the world. Bob's passion lay in metal fabrication and welding. As a master craftsman, he shaped raw materials into works of art, teaching his sons the same skills. His legacy lives on through their craftsmanship. His adventurous spirit took him across continents to attend tractor shows, where he marveled at the intricate machinery. But Bob's heart was equally big when it came to children. He drove the children's ministry bus, ensuring over 113 kids had safe transportation to church. Every year, Bob proudly participated in the Jasper parade, smiling and waving, riding his tractors through town. His love for Dr. Pepper, peanut butter, and peach preserves sandwiches—made from home-canned peaches—was legendary. Bob wasn't just about welding and tractors; he reveled in barefoot water skiing, rode Honda motorcycles, and appreciated the rugged reliability of John Deere and Caterpillar equipment. His culinary adventures knew no bounds—he even crafted the world's largest pizza in 1970, right in Miami, Florida.

Survived by his two sons, Danny (Melanie) Edwards and Bobby (Jackie) Edwards, along with grandchildren, Aspen Edwards, Nate and Nick Edwards, Andrew Locke, Kaleb Lenning and great-grandchildren, Aurora Edwards, William Edwards V and Serenitii Edwards, Bob's memory lives on.

He joins his beloved wife, Susie Edwards, parents, son, William "Bill" Joseph Alston brothers; Richard, Fred, Reid and David Edwards and sister, Frances Edwards in their Heavenly home, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, laughter, and love.

The family will receive friends at Cagle Funeral Home on Thursday August 15, 2024, from 11 o'clock in the morning until nine at night, Friday August 16, 2024, from nine in the morning until nine at night and Saturday August 17, 2024, from nine in the morning until the service hour.

Bob's funeral service will be at Jasper United Methodist Church Saturday August 17, 2024, at two o'clock in the afternoon with Pastor Herb Flanders officiating. Interment will follow directly after the service at Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery.
