Wayne Neighbours, 66, of Dawsonville, Georgia, passed away on August 20, 2026, after a brief illness. Born in Jasper, he was the son of the late Mr. Dean Neighbours and Bettie Hill Neighbours.

Wayne was a simple, steady man who believed in hard work and doing things the right way. He spent his life as a land surveyor and could fix just about anything he put his hands on. He was protective, loyal, and carried a quiet strength that his family depended on. Wayne loved westerns, loved looking up at the stars and sky, and always had a piece of wisdom ready when someone needed it. He leaves behind a legacy of love — a devoted husband, a loving father, and a proud grandfather.

Wayne is survived by his wife of 46 years, Kaye Shirley Neighbours; daughter, Vanessa McBrayer; son, Michael Neighbours and his wife Holly, his grandchildren: Matthew McBrayer, Daniel McBrayer, Reese Neighbours, Jase Neighbours, Curtis Neighbours, Gavin Neighbours, and Dane Neighbours; and his sister, Jan Ridgill.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers Dean Neighbours, David Neighbours, and Doug Neighbours; and his sister Lucy Barrett.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 22, 2026, from 3–9 PM, and again on Sunday, August 23, 2026, from 10–5 PM. A funeral service will be conducted at 5 PM on Sunday in the Robert A. Cagle Memorial Chapel, with interment to follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.

Serving as pallbearers will be Michael McBrayer, Dale Neighbours, Noah Neighbours, Charlie Barrett, Luke Evans, and Dylan Whit.
