Thomas Lee Wilkie, loving daddy, papa, brother and friend, passed away on October 2, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on September 28, 1941, in Jasper, GA, Tom was a lifelong resident of Pickens County and a cherished member of the community. Tom dedicated much of his life to serving the people of Jasper as the Owner and Operator of Blue Star Supermarket. His commitment to his customers and employees was not just as a businessman but as a friend. His kindness and warm smile were hallmarks of the shopping experience at Blue Star.
He was a member of Salem Baptist Church, where his faith and fellowship were an integral part of his life. He also was a respected member of the Pickens Star Masonic Lodge #220 F & AM and the Pickens Chapter #28 R.A.M., where he cultivated lifelong friendships and contributed to various charitable works.
Tom's love for nature was evident, he could be found watching the birds, deer, and particularly the hummingbirds that visited. He had a passion for listening to congregational gospel music which he enjoyed listening to and participating in. Tom enjoyed going for weekend rides strolling down memory lane and seeing the new progress.
His impact on his family and community was profound and he will be remembered for the love he shared freely and abundantly. His legacy will continue to inspire those who knew him and those generations that follow.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Imogene Wilkie; parents, Alvin and Willene Wilkie; and brother, James Wilkie.
Thomas is survived by his daughter, Charlene Youngblood (Scott); granddaughter, Courtney Segers (Jason); step-granddaughter, Stephanie Johnson (Lloyd); three great-grandchildren, Katelyn Segers, Adalyn Segers and Ben Segers; three step great-grandchildren, Reese Johnson, Karys Johnson and Landon Johnson; sisters, Judy Scott (David) and Janie Watson (Mike); brother, John Wilkie; special nieces and nephews, Rebecca Logan (Shane), Kathryn Gore (Kyle), Cory Watson (Beth) and Nathan Watson; special friend, Betty Youngblood; as well as a host of other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at the Chapel of Cagle Funeral Home with Rev. Jason Segers officiating. Interment will follow in Sunrise Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Cagle Funeral Home on Friday, October 3rd from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Saturday, October 4th from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
Serving as pallbearers will be Tony Tippens, Cory Watson, Jeremy Jones, Mike Watson, Phil Wilkie and Lloyd Johnson. Honorary pallbearers are William Cantrell, David Scott and Lamar Wilkie.
