Obituary

Steve Hill, age 60, of Jasper, Georgia, passed away at Asheville Mission Hospital on October 29, 2024. He was born on March 11, 1964, in Canton, Georgia. Steve was the beloved son of Mr. Bobby Hill and Ms. Martha Covington Hill.

Steve's life was filled with the love of his family, especially his two beautiful daughters, who were his pride and joy. Known fondly as the "garage door man" Steve was a hardworking entrepreneur who built his own successful business. He was a familiar friendly face around town, always ready to lend a hand. A true outdoors man, Steve found peace and joy in the simple pleasures of nature. He loved hunting, fishing, and NASCAR. His weekends were often spent go-cart racing with his youngest daughter, Stephanie. Steve's greatest role in life was being "Papa" to his grandchildren. He cherished moments spent riding around with them, often letting them climb into the bed of his truck for an adventure down an old back road, creating lasting memories for his family. Known for his sense of humor, Steve loved to make people laugh and could always be counted on to raise a little cane and ensure a goodtime was had by all. His spirit was one of kindness and unwavering love for his family and friends. Steve often spoke of his anticipation to reunite with loved ones in Heaven, where he looked forward to "shooting the bull" with friends and family. Though he has left this world, his legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Randall Hill.

Steve is survived by his wife, Lori Hill, daughters, Stacia (Jason) Hancock, Stephanie Hill (Wade Childers), grandchildren, Skyler Hancock, Jaycee Hancock, Levi Mathews, Addi Mathews, brother, Cliff Hill and sister, Jean (Lamar) Clark. His memory will be cherished by several other family members and friends as well.
