Ms. Sarah Mulkey, age 76, of Jasper, Georgia, passed away on May 8, 2026 She was born on February 9, 1950, to the late Otis West and Flara Morris West.
Sarah was married to her husband, Billy, for 40 years, and together they built a life rooted in love, faith, and family. She was a soft‑spoken, gentle, God‑fearing woman—unless a snake showed up in her garden, and then her quiet nature took a quick pause. Sarah was saved at Talking Rock Baptist Church at the age of 17, a moment that shaped the way she lived the rest of her days.
She was an adored mother and Grandma. Sarah loved her family deeply and always put others before herself. She took care of everyone she knew and loved, never asking for anything in return. Butterflies, birds, hummingbirds, quilting, and gardening were a few of her favorite things, and she was known as one of the best country cooks around. Her pancakes, banana pudding, and peanut butter brownies were family favorites. Her strawberry pie for her daughter’s birthday and her old‑fashioned chocolate cake for her son’s birthday will be missed, but the memories of them will be held close for a lifetime.
Sarah is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Billy Mulkey; her brothers, Hoyal West, Max West, and Arven West; and her sisters, Dale Chambers, Doris Jackson, and Thelma Crockett.
She is survived by her daughter, Sherry and husband Adam Easterwood; her son, Steven and wife Kelly Mulkey; her grandchildren, Wesley and Hannah Easterwood, Jacob Mulkey, Aliceson DeBord, and Cody DeBord; and her great‑grandchildren, Ava Easterwood and Adalynn Easterwood. She is also survived by her brothers, Daniel and Doris West, and David and Kathy West; her brother‑in‑law, Charlie Mulkey Sr., sister-in-law, Dorothy West, and many nieces and nephews who will forever cherish her memory.
The family will receive friends at Cagle Funeral Home on Monday, May 11, 2026, from 11:00 AM until 8:00 PM, and on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, from 9:00 AM until the funeral hour.
Sarah’s funeral service will be held in The Robert A. Cagle Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at 11:00 AM, with Rev. Bobby McFarland and Rev. Edwin Bishop officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Steven Mulkey, Adam Easterwood, Wesley Easterwood, and Jacob Mulkey. Interment will follow at Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to help with funeral expenses.
