Ruby Chastain, age 76, passed away peacefully at her home in Talking Rock, Georgia, on April 2, 2025, surrounded by the love and care of her family. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, Ruby's life was a testament to love, dedication, and the simple joys that make life meaningful.

Ruby was married to her cherished husband, Olin Chastain, for 50 wonderful years. Together, they built a life full of laughter, warmth, and unforgettable memories. Now reunited with Olin in Heaven, their love story continues beyond earthly bounds. Their legacy lives on in the children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who were the light of Ruby's life and brought her immeasurable happiness.

She had a deep appreciation for life's beauty and found joy in the little things. Ruby adored hummingbirds, spent peaceful afternoons fishing, and created countless sewing projects with love and she took pride in maintaining a warm and welcoming home.  She had a special knack for yard sales and shopping, always finding treasures and spreading joy. Her hours-long phone conversations were a reminder of her warm and generous spirit.

She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Mary Jordan, Loretta Blanton, Sandra Holt, Darlene Porter, Theresa Erwin.

Ruby's loss will be deeply felt by her surviving family sons, Teddy (Jennifer) Buttrum, Terry Buttrum, Trina (Danny) Wright, grandchildren, Nina Wright, Misty Fountain, Sheena (John) Quinton, Casey (Tara) Buttrum, Ashley Wright, Wesley (Sahnia) Buttrum, Brandon Buttrum, brother, Shorty (Ruth) Johnson, brother, Noah (Tammy) Blanton, Kenneth (Kathy) Blanton, William (Angie) sister, Delores Howard. brothers-in-law, Ben (Janice) Chastain and Clifford (Faye) Chastain. Ruby's legacy is one of love, family and dedication. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

The family will receive friends at Cagle Funeral Home on Friday April 4, 2025, from 11 in the morning until nine at night and Saturday April 5, 2025, from 10 in the morning until the service hour.

Ruby's funeral service will be conducted in the Robert A. Cagle Memorial Chapel on Saturday April 5, 2025, at four in the afternoon with Rev. Joseph Hightower officiating. Interment will follow the service at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
