Richard R
Naylor
May 9, 1938 — May 26, 2019
Talking Rock
Richard R. Naylor, age 81, of Talking Rock passed away early Sunday morning at his home in Talking Rock, GA. He was born in Duryea, Pennsylvania to Kenneth & Edith Naylor, and was moved to Bingington, NY where he started his long career of 32 1/2 years with IBM working in various locations before retiring as a Senior Purchasing Agent in Atlanta. He and Louise purchased a small farm in Talking Rock and he began the long process of renovating the old farmstead, where he lived at his death. His favorite pastime was watching all the many rescued horses, dogs and cats playing from his chair.
Richard is survived by his wife, Louise Nelson, daughter Cara Naylor and step-daughter Sherri Trones, all of Talking Rock. Another beloved daughter, Tricia Naylor, preceded him in death. He is also survived by his brother Kenneth Naylor from Friendsville, Pennsylvania. Richard also left behind a dedicated companion, his dog Meli, a German Shepherd. On the day of his death, Meli sat outside and howled. She knew he was leaving us.
Richard served in the Army Reserves in the late 1950's and was a member of Fraternal Order of Masons, a 31 degree level before taking a dimit.
His wishes were to be cremated and his ashes spread over his beautiful farm. No services will be held, and in lieu of flowers donations could be made to Georgia Equine Rescue League, one of Richards favorite non-profits: P.O. Box 328, Bethlehem, GA 30620
Cagle Funeral Home is honored to serve the Naylor family.
