With a heavy heart Cagle Funeral Home and the Cantrell family announces the loss of Ms. Retha Cantrell, who left this world when Jesus called her Home on April 8, 2024, with her family lovingly by her side.

Retha was born on May 26, 1962 to the late Mr. Charles Rupert Turner and Ms. Jeanette Hammontree Turner in Tate, Georgia. She was a kind, sweet soul who loved Jesus, always putting others before herself and was strong in her faith. Spending time with her family is what mattered most to Retha, always helping take care of her siblings. She also enjoyed painting, drawing, coloring and fishing. You could occasionally find her going deer hunting with her husband, not because she enjoyed it per se, she just wanted to see him smile. She loved to make people happy.

Retha was greeted in Heaven by her daughter, Shannon Quarles, parents and sister Portia Romine.

Her memory will live on with her loving husband of 33 years, Johnny Cantrell, sons, Joshua and Justin Cantrell, brother, Larry (Brenda) Turner, sisters; Marcheta Cook, Lynette Smith, Lanay (Steve) Foster, Brenda Underwood, Syliva (Curtis) Chapel, Sharon England, Telete (Alfred) Rickett, sister-in-law; Jane Cantrell, granddaughter, Shanna Walden, her great-grandson, Hayes Gillham. Several nieces & nephews also survive to cherish her memory.

Retha's funeral service will be Friday, April 12 2024, in the chapel of Cagle Funeral Home at 3 o'clock in the afternoon with Rev. Alfred Rickett officiating.

The family will receive friends at Cagle Funeral Home on Thursday, April 11, 2024 from five until nine and Friday from nine in the morning until the service hour.

The family deeply appreciates your support during this difficult time and will be accepting flowers.
