Ms. Peggy Jordan, age 75, of Talking Rock, Georgia, passed away peacefully at her home May 29,2026. She was born on July 18, 1950, to the late Bill Cowart and Ruth Fouts Cowart.
Peggy was a woman whose heart was full of love, loyalty, and simple joys. She was married to her late husband, Charles, for 40 years, and he was the absolute love of her life. She loved him with everything she had, and together they built a life and a family filled with memories that will stay with their children and grandchildren forever.
Peggy loved hummingbirds and gardening, and her moonvine on the front porch was her favorite. She was crafty and creative, and even painted houses in her younger years. She was a good cook, a proud Georgia Bulldogs fan, and she loved southern rock, Hank Jr. and Lynyrd Skynyrd were favorites, but George Jones held the top spot. Peggy also loved the beach and looked forward to her family trips to Daytona every year. But more than anything, Peggy loved her family. She always wanted to take care of the people she loved, and she did that well. She was a devoted wife, mother, Nanny, and “Grandpeg,” and her love will continue to guide her family for years to come.
Peggy is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Charles Jordan, her grandson, William Connor Hester; and her brothers, Larry Cowart and Ronnie Cowart.
She is survived by her children, Jody (Kim) Hester, Shane (Amy) Hester, Josh (Lexie) Jordan, Jessica Jordan, Scotty (Jennifer) Jordan, and Alex (Debbie) Jordan. She also leaves behind several grandchildren and great‑grandchildren who will forever cherish her memory. Sisters‑in‑law Terresa Cowart (wife of Larry) and Nancy Cowart (wife of Ronnie) and Rhonda Waggoner, a friend who became family over the years, survives as well.
The family will receive friends at Cagle Funeral Home on Monday, June 1, 2026, from 11:00 AM until 9:00 PM, and again on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, from 9:00 AM until the service hour. Peggy’s funeral service will be held in the Robert A. Cagle Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at 11:00 AM.
