Obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ms. Nanette Leigh Cooper, who left this world on July 4, 2025, at the age of 62. Nanette was born in Marietta, Georgia, to the late James Hamby and her dear mother, Petie Stauffer Hodge.

Throughout her life, Nanette was known for her warm smile, her kind heart, and the love she showed to everyone around her. She found her greatest joy in being a grandmother. Her grandchildren meant the world to her, and she cherished every moment she spent with them. Nanette was also incredibly proud of her recovery journey. She worked hard and found strength in every step forward-something she held close with pride, and her family did too. Nanette's faith was a guiding light in her life. She loved attending church with her family, especially at Hiawassee United Methodist Church, where she felt at home and at peace. One of her happiest weekly traditions was spending girls' night with her mom and sister, playing cards, rolling dice, and sharing laughter. She will be remembered as a loving daughter, mother, grandmother, and friend. Her warmth, resilience, and unwavering love will continue to inspire all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her father, husband, Lawrence Cooper, daughter, Telicia Taylor, grandparents, maternal and paternal, and her nephew, Reece Reger.

Her absence will be deeply felt by her surviving family, her mother, Petie, daughter, Jessica (Wilmy) Bernard, son, Noah Rahn, grandsons, Zander Milliron, Kane Ross and Ronen Bernard, sister, Shawna Hamby, nephew, BJ (Becki) Reger, Madison Reger and Bronson Reger.

The family will receive friends at Cagle Funeral Home on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at two in the afternoon until four.

Nanette's memorial service will be conducted in the Robert A. Cagle Memorial Chapel on Sunday, July 27, 2025, with Wilmy Bernard officiating and testimonies of love from her family.

The family deeply appreciates your support during this difficult time and will be accepting flowers.
