Obituary

Ms. Nancy Grizzle, of Talking Rock, Georgia, passed away peacefully at home on November 29, 2024, at the age of 76. Born to the late Mr. Carson Payne and Clara Belle "Pud" Payne, she was a true spitfire, known for her feisty spirit and sassy demeanor. A remarkable woman who touched the hearts of everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Nancy was a woman who spoke her mind, whether you wanted to hear it or not. But beyond her fierce exterior, she was a loving soul who gave the warmest hugs, always accompanied by a kiss on the cheek. Her honesty and straightforwardness were balanced by her tender and caring nature. She had a passion for life that was truly infectious. Nancy loved her trips to the Smoky Mountains and Cades Cove, always ready for an adventure. She was always up for a good time, loved to dance, and never missed a chance to have fun. Yet, she also cherished the quieter moments, enjoying the simple pleasure of front porch rockin'.

Nancy was not just a mother; she was affectionately known as Granny Nancy, a beloved sister, and a devoted daughter. Her family was her world, and she loved them fiercely. Her legacy is one of love, joy, and unfiltered honesty, and her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those she left behind.

Her parents and son, Chris Cheshire awaited her arrival in Heaven.

Her loss will be deeply felt by her surviving family, son Gary (Angie) Simmons, grandchildren, Chasity (Jim) Fitzgerald, Brittany (Andrew) Willingham, Sean (Harlee) Cheshire, Chelsey (Shane) Parham, Payton (Amber) Cheshire and Jesse Cheshire, brother Bud Payne, sister, Lisa Payne and daughter-in-law in heart, Becky Voyles. Several Nieces and Nephews also survive to cherish Nancy's memory.

The family will receive friends at Cagle Funeral Home on Saturday November 30, 2024, from three in the afternoon until nine at night and Sunday December 1, 2024, from 10 in the morning until the service hour.

Nancy's funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of Cagle Funeral Home on Sunday December 1, 2024, at two o'clock with Rev, Joseph Hightower officiating. Interment will follow the service at Town Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Sean Cheshire, Payton Cheshire, Jesse Cheshire, Logan Davis, Wyatt Fitzgerald and CJ Voyles will be serving as pallbearers.

As we remember Nancy, let us celebrate her life, her spirit, and the countless memories she has given us. May her love and laughter continue to live on in our hearts, and may we find comfort in knowing that she is now at peace.

The family deeply appreciates your support during this difficult time and will be accepting flowers.
