Michael Stuart Spangler, born December 30, 1947, in Liberal, Kansas, passed away on Friday, December 5, 2025. He was the beloved son of the late Mr. Gilbert Spangler and Mrs. Grace Kooster Spangler.

Mike was a gifted architect and custom home builder whose creativity and craftsmanship left a lasting mark on every project he touched. Beyond his professional talents, he was a man of deep character and joy. He found peace in hiking the outdoors, laughter in romantic comedies, and fulfillment in the company of others. A true people person, Mike had a gift for making everyone feel welcome, valued, and heard. His warmth and kindness made him well loved by all fortunate enough to know him.

A proud supporter of Kansas State sports, Mike carried his passion for his home state throughout his life. His devotion to family was unwavering, and his legacy lives on through those he cherished most. He is survived by his daughter, Michelle (Jason) Vonhaz; his son, Chadwick (Elizabeth Holzknecht) Spangler; and his treasured grandchildren, Ella-Kate and Parker Vonhaz, sisters, Judith Spangler and Shari Hourigan,  and his former spouse, Dana Matthews.

Visitation for Mike will be held at Cagle Funeral Home on Saturday, December 13, 2025, from 1:00–2:00 pm. A Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 pm in the Robert A. Cagle Memorial Chapel, with interment at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
