We are saddened to share the passing of Melvin Eugene Bryant, age 71 of Jasper, Georgia on December 29, 2024. Melvin was born on October 18, 1953, to James and Ruth Bryant of Jasper, Georgia.

Melvin had a passion for flying, skydiving, listening to and playing music, especially the harmonica. The mountains were his sanctuary, and he cherished every moment spent outdoors, so much that he fondly referred to himself as "Mountain Man." His greatest joy came from his relationship with his grandson, James – they shared an extraordinary bond.

Melvin is preceded in death by his parents, James and Ruth Bryant; daughter, Sarah Cheyenne-Marie Bryant; and his brother and sister-in-law, Greg and Donna Bryant.

His passing will be deeply felt by his surviving family, daughter, DeLaney Bryant Jernigan; grandchildren, James Jernigan and fiancé, Danielle Jones, Chelsea and Matthew Sandiford; and great-grandchildren, Bradley Sandiford and Aiden and Ashton Jones.

Melvin will be sincerely missed and always remembered by all who knew him.
