It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Melinda Sue Blackwell, age 43, of Marble Hill, Georgia, who left us on November 30, 2024. Born on January 24, 1981, in Jasper, Georgia, to Mr. Ricky Blackwell and Ms. Tommy Sue Cox, Melinda lived a life full of love, creativity, and generosity.
Melinda had a profound love for the outdoors, where she often found peace and joy in fishing and enjoying nature. She had a special affection for frogs and expressed her creativity through wood burning and glass etching. Melinda was known for her crafty talents and her warm, embracing hugs that could brighten anyone's day. Her family, friends, and children were the center of her universe. Melinda's kind heart and unwavering dedication to those she loved were evident in everything she did. She was a hardworking individual who would give the shirt off her back to anyone in need, embodying the true spirit of generosity and selflessness.
Melinda's son Ashton Brown awaited her arrival in Heaven.
Her loss will be deeply felt by her surviving family, sons, Ozzy Mulkey, Ben Blackwell, daughter, Faith Anderson, mother, Tommy Sue Cox, father, Ricky Blackwell, brother, Dustin Wright and sister, Nikki Dodd. Several other family members and friends also survive to cherish Melinda's memory.
The family will receive friends at Cagle Funeral Home on Monday December 9, 2024, from two in the afternoon until nine at night and Tuesday December 10, 2024, from 10 in the morning until the service hour
Melinda's graveside service will be conducted at Sunrise Memorial Gardens on Tuesday December 10, 2024, at one o'clock with Rev. Jimmy Gayton officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Cagle Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses, honoring Melinda's giving nature by helping her family during this difficult time.
Melinda Sue Blackwell's presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit and the memories she created will forever be cherished by those who were fortunate to know and love her.
