Cagle Funeral Home sadly announces the death of Mr. Mark West, age 73 of Canton.

Mark was born on December 23, 1950 in Canton, GA to the late J. L. and Hessie West, and was the youngest of 10 children. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Alice West; son, Jamie West; brothers, Dub (Christine) West, Charles West, and Joe (Mary) West; sister, Shirley Tribble; brother-in-law, Michael (Sandy) Holtzclaw; sisters-in-law, Wansley (W.C.) Parker, Dottie (Gerry) Sullivan, and Janice Holtzclaw; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jackie West, Tommy West, and Benny West; sisters, Barbara Jones and Annette Shelton; brothers-in-law, Ray Holtzclaw and Johnny Holtzclaw; sister-in-law, Tammie Hildebrandt.

Mark was very witty, with a great sense of humor and a quiet laugh that was contagious. He did construction work from a very young age alongside his Daddy and brothers, most of that time he was a brick mason. He enjoyed classic and hot rod cars, fixing them up to perfection. He loved doing woodwork and made birdhouses to look like miniature houses, cabins, old general stores, and anything his creative mind could think of. He also loved working crossword puzzles in his spare time.

Visitation will be Sunday, June 2 and Monday, from 5 pm until 9 pm and Tuesday from 2 pm until 4 pm.

A funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at Cagle Funeral Home Chapel, with Tony Holtzclaw and John Holtzclaw officiating.

Interment will be at Sunrise Memorial Gardens following the funeral service.

Pallbearers: Danny West, Dwayne West, Adam Stiles, Dustin Stiles, Kevin Teague, Stacy West, Tracy West, and John Holtzclaw.
