Junior Carver, affectionately known as "Pop," passed away peacefully at home on September 5, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born on June 29, 1935, in Tate, Georgia, Junior was the youngest of ten children born to Marion Carver and Ada Boyd Carver.

Junior proudly served his country in the Army, where he demonstrated remarkable resilience and bravery, even losing an eye in the line of duty. Despite this, he remained an avid outdoors-man, excelling in hunting and fishing, and passing these cherished skills on to his children.

He was married to the love of his life, Mary Jean Carver, for 66 wonderful years. Together, they raised two children, who were the pride and joy of his life. Pop worked diligently at Georgia Marble for 42 years, eventually retiring to enjoy more time with his family and the great outdoors. Pop's passions included deer hunting, fishing, camping, and simply being in nature. He was known for his love of chewing Levi Garrett, enjoying a cold beer, and raising a little cane. He lived by the motto "work hard, play hard." Above all, Pop loved his family deeply. He cherished every moment spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His legacy of love, strength, and outdoor adventure will live on through them. Pop Carver will be remembered as a devoted husband, a loving father, a proud grandfather, and a true outdoors-man. His spirit and zest for life will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Pop was greeted in Heaven by his wife, father, whom he never had the chance to meet, as his dad passed away while his mother was pregnant with him, his mother and his brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his son, Tim (Jeanette) Carver, daughter, Cathy (Jeff) Tilley, grandchildren, Lezley (Troy) Gross, Allen Tilley, Andy (Regina) Tilley, Brian (Heather) Sutton, Daniel (Amanda) Sutton, Michelle Sutton, great grandchildren, Promise River Gross, Jayda Tilley, Issac Tilley, Malachi Tilley, Arya Brown and his sister, Coreen Thomason.

The family will receive friends at Cagle Funeral Home on Saturday September 7, 2024, at ten in the morning until ten at night and Sunday September 8, 2024, from eight in the morning until the service hour.

Pop's Funeral service will be conducted in the Chapel of Cagle Funeral Home Sunday September 8, 2024, at 2 o'clock in the afternoon with Revs. Harold Cantrell and Joseph Hightower officiating. Serving as Pallbearers will be; Allen Tilley, Andy Tilley, Daniel Brooks, Josh Chumley, Junior Martin and Jeff Tilley. Interment will follow directly after the service at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
