Mr. Luke Padgett, age 79, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2025. He was born on June 28, 1945, in Jasper, Georgia, to the late Norman Padgett and Ollie Hawkins Padgett.

Luke was a hardworking and kind-hearted man who dedicated his life to tree work, never shying away from a hard day's labor. He had a special gift for luck when it came to the lottery, always seeming to have fortune on his side. Beyond his work, Luke found happiness in life's simple joys—splitting and cutting wood, enjoying his favorite sweets, and tending to his chickens. His days were filled with the sounds of nature and the comforts of home, but what mattered most to him was the time spent with his family.

To those who knew him, Luke was a source of warmth, laughter, and unwavering love. His presence brought joy to those around him, and his memory will remain in the hearts of his loved ones forever. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit lives on in the stories shared and the moments treasured.

Luke is preceded in death by his brother, Junior Padgett, Larry Padgett, sisters, Martha Owens, Mattie Ayers, brothers-in-law, Harold Cantrell, Bobby Silvers, Charles Cantrell, Toby Holt and Frank Cantrell.

His absence will be deeply felt by his surviving family brother, Leonard Padgett, sisters, Barbara Cantrell, Dorothy Cantrell, Margaret Holt, Linda Cantrell, Wanda Silvers and sister-in-law, Cindy Padgett. Several nieces and nephews also survive to cherish Luke's memory.

The family will receive friends at Cagle Funeral Home on Friday, May 9, 2025, from one in the afternoon until nine at night and Saturday, May 10, 2025, from 10 in the morning until the service hour.

Luke's funeral service will be conducted in the Robert A. Cagle Memorial Chapel on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at two in the afternoon with Rev. Ben Mock officiating. Interment will follow the service at Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery.
