Mr. Lloyd Thompson, age 87 of Jasper, passed away Saturday, August 19, 2023 at his residence.

Mr. Thompson is survived by his daughter, Connie Thompson of Jasper; sister, Arlene Crowe of Jasper; four grandchildren, Kathy (Jeffery) Dean, Stephanie Wofford, Deanna (Josh) Schmidt, and Joey (Jordan) Thompson; seven great-grandchildren, Aaliyah Wofford, Clay Wofford, Madison Wofford, Charlie King, Quinn Schmidt, Adrian Schmidt, and Kimber Thompson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam & Onnor Thompson; wife, Faye Thompson; son, Nickey Thompson; daughter, Lynn Herndon; sisters, Leo Darnell and Inez Poole.

Visitation is Sunday, August 20, from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm, Monday from 8:00 am until 9:00 pm, and Tuesday from 8:00 am until prior to the funeral service.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at Talking Rock Baptist Church, with Rev. Tim McFarland, Rev. Buck Parker, Rev. Bobby McFarland, and Jeff Dean officiating.

Interment will be in the church cemetery following the funeral service.

Pallbearers: Brian Johnson, David Johnson, Neal Poole, Kenneth Poole, Jeff Poole, and Josh Schmidt. Honorary pallbearer: Joey Thompson.

The family will accept flowers or donations can be made to the Pickens Star Lodge in Jasper.
