Obituary

Lillian Geneva Armstrong Brown, age 88, of Canton, Georgia, passed away peacefully at home on November 18, 2024. Daughter of the late Berton Armstrong and Pansy Krum Armstrong born on April 28, 1936, in Pedro, Ohio, Lillian's life was filled with love, creativity, and dedication.

Throughout her life, Lillian enjoyed the art of crocheting and sewing and sharing her beautiful creations with friends and family. She was always active whether it be playing ball, doing crafts or shopping with her grandchildren as well as volunteering for church events. She was treasurer of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ & the Latter Day Saints in Oak Harbor, OH, a devoted member and Deacon at the Community Church of Christ in Milton, GA, and an active participant in Silver Sneakers in Jasper, GA.

Lillian married Harmon Finken on July 15, 1954, in Oak Harbor, Ohio.  They were blessed with 5 children in their 39 years of marriage and Lillian was his caretaker during his battle with cancer until he passed in 1993.  In 1994 Lillian married Raymond Brown. They traveled and enjoyed retirement in LeighHigh Acres, FL then Canton, GA.  Lillian lovingly cared for Ray through his battle with dementia until his death in 2016. Lillian is also proceeded in death by her sons, Harmon (Herb) Finken Jr., and Berton (Alan) Finken; brother, Ivan Armstrong; and sisters, Dorris, Martha, Jean, Patricia & Midge.

Her loss will be deeply felt by her surviving family: brother and best friend, Webb (Mary) Armstrong; daughter, Teresa Deisenroth; sons, Robert Finken and Ralph Finken as well as her step-children, Ray (Mike) Brown, Jr. & Tonya Keith; grandchildren Fred Finken, Katrina (Jason) Deisenroth, Michael Finken, Curtis (Sarah) Deisenroth, Geneva Finken, Robert Finken, Marlene, Minnie, Melissa, and Tiffany Crespo; and great grandchildren, Tate & Aiden Webb, Declan Finken, Christian, Destiny & Alfred Finken, Carmyn Wood & Caden Salts, and Mariah Crespo; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services for Lillian will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 2, 2024, at Oak Harbor United Methodist Church, located at 360 East Ottawa Street, Oak Harbor, Ohio. Rev. Charlene Thomas (Lillian's niece) will officiate. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the church starting at 12:00 p.m. until the service begins. Burial will follow the services at Rusha Cemetery, Oak Harbor. A luncheon will follow at the Lacarne Fire Department.
