Kerry L. Branton, 72, of Jasper, Georgia, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy rooted in love, hard work, and a deep appreciation for the natural world. Born on February 28, 1953, in Florence, Alabama, Kerry was the son of the late Henry and Betty Branton,.

Kerry was an outdoorsman in every sense of the word. He found joy in canoeing, hiking, and simply taking in the quiet majesty of nature. Whether on a wooded trail or beside a winding river, he felt most at home under an open sky. His love for adventure extended to the open road as well—riding motorcycles was one of his greatest pleasures, offering him both freedom and reflection.

Kerry was an enthusiastic College Football Fan, Alabama and Georgia were his favorite teams, and when they played each other he would say, "May the best team win".

Known for his strong work ethic, Kerry was a dedicated provider who took pride in caring for his family. He approached life with steady hands and a generous heart, always willing to help, always ready to give more than he received. Kerry became quadriplegic in 2008, and fought to be with his family for 18 years Those who knew him will remember his loyalty, his grit, and the quiet strength that defined him.

Kerry is survived by his loving wife, Paula McGinnis Branton, his son Daniel Branton, and his brothers Mark, Chris, and Paul Branton. Kerry now walks with his son Matthew in heaven.

Kerry's spirit lives on in the forests he walked, the rivers he paddled, and the family who will forever cherish his memory.
