Obituary

Katelyn Alexis Brannon, 21, of Jasper, Georgia, passed away far too soon, leaving behind a legacy of light, love, and the kind of spirit that cannot be contained. Born in Canton, Georgia on May 1, 2004, to Hannah Lusk and Justin Brannon, Katelyn lived her life with vibrant joy and a fierce devotion to those she loved.

Beautiful inside and out, Katelyn was a free spirit who found peace in nature, laughter in the kitchen, and poetry in her soul. She was known for her generosity, her kindness, and the way she lit up any room just by being in it. A gifted Southern cook, she poured love into every meal, gathering friends and family around tables filled with warmth and stories.

Her heart belonged to her beloved daughter, Avelyn Harris, whom she cherished beyond measure. The love she gave as a mother will continue to echo through Avelyn's life and the lives of all who were lucky enough to know Katelyn.

She is survived by her partner, Chasun Harris,  daughter, Avelyn Harris; her mother, Hannah Lusk; her father, Justin Brannon; her brother, Bailey (Grace) Lusk; her grandmother, Lauri Grizzle; great grandmother, Gerri Gooch; her niece, Emma Lusk. Many aunts, uncles, and cousins will carry forward her memory with tenderness and pride.

Katelyn is preceded in death by her daughter, Camilla Nova Harris; her grandfathers, Bradley Lusk and Temple Brannon; her grandmother, Trudy Brannon; and her great-grandparents, Harvey and Norma Grizzle and cousins, Christopher Watkins and Sheena Brannon.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A celebration of life will follow at 2:00 PM in the Robert A. Cagle Memorial Chapel at Cagle Funeral Home, with Revs. Greg Burgner and Steven Owen officiating.

Katelyn's love of swimming, the outdoors, and poetry she wrote remind us to live boldly, love deeply, and embrace each moment. She will be missed dearly—but never forgotten.
