Judy
Durden
Feb 24, 1949 — May 13, 2025
Jasper
Ms. Judy Durden, age 76, of Jasper, Georgia, passed away on May 13, 2025. She was born on February 24, 1949, in Porterdale, Georgia, to the late Clifford Durden and Sara Atha Durden.
Judy had a deep love for life's simple joys—horses, music, good books, and a great meal shared with loved ones. She had a special fondness for strawberry milkshakes, a sweet reflection of her warm and generous heart. Her artistic spirit and creativity touched those around her, and her sharp memory made her a treasured family historian and storyteller. With a sense of humor that could brighten any room, she kept laughter alive in the hearts of those she loved.
Judy worked multiple jobs in her lifetime. Perhaps she most enjoyed being a licensed Private Investigator at Pinkerton for a number of years. Her attention to detail and her ability to converse with everyone comfortably made her especially adept in this work that she loved. Another job Judy loved was working at a paint store. She had the patience and initiative to keep mixing and trying until her customer was fully satisfied with the color. Again, her attention to detail made her an asset to those she served. She loved this challenge.
She spent most of her life in Stone Mountain, Georgia, creating cherished memories with family and friends. Judy will be remembered for her kindness, her wisdom, and the love she shared so freely. She will be deeply missed, but her stories, her laughter, and her spirit will live on in those who knew and loved her.
Judy is preceded in death by her son, Cliff.
Her absence will be deeply felt by her surviving family, daughter-in-law, Hollie Battle, grandchildren, Gracie Battle and Allie Battle, several great grandchildren, brothers, Benny (Cindy) Durden, David (Deb) Durden and sister, Alice Storey (Richard deceased). Numerous cousins, nieces and nephews also survive to cherish Judy's memory.
