Johnny Carl Chastain, age 76, of Jasper, Georgia, passed away Friday, May 31, 2024, at his home with his wife of 21 years, lovingly by his side.

Johnny was born to the late Mr. Ulyess Chastain and Ms. Virgina Buttrum Chastain in Cartersville, Georgia on April 5, 1948. He served in the Army for many years and is a Vietnam Veteran. Having been born into a musical family, he enjoyed playing his guitar, listening to Merle Haggard, George Jones and Conway Twitty.

Johnny was reunited in Heaven with his parents, daughter, Tara Katrina Lovette and his brother, Virgil Chastain.

He leaves behind his wife, Jerry Anita Chastain, step-son, Adam Joshua Williams, daughter, Tonya and Ben Peak, sister, Patricia and Chris Huston, grandchildren; Lillianna Williams, Zoey, Katie and Anthony Peak. He has several nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends to miss and remember him.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at 11 o'clock in the morning in the chapel of Cagle Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Porado officiating.

The family will receive family and friends Monday, June 3, 2024, from 5 o'clock in the evening until 7pm, Tuesday, June 4, 2024, from 10am in the morning until the service hour.

Johnny will be interred at Georgia National Cemetery with a private ceremony with military honors.
