Mr. John "J.R." Robert Payne, age 88 of Talking Rock, passed away Friday, August 28, 2020 at Cobb Tranquility Hospice after declining health.

Mr. Payne was born in Gordon County, GA to Dewey G. and Lydia Cochran Payne on December 10, 1931. Mr. Payne was a veteran of the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Grace Winkler and brothers Marvin and H.B. Payne.

Survivors are: sister Evelyn Weatherington of Carrollton, GA, brothers Paul Payne of Morganton, GA, James Payne of The Villages, FL, Hugh Payne of New Port, NC, Thomas Payne of Ellijay, GA and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be scheduled for a later date at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Jasper, GA.
