Mrs. Joan Batt, age 69 of Talking Rock, passed away Sunday, May 14, 2023 at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital.

Mrs. Batt is survived by her son, Terry Batt of Talking Rock; daughter and son-in-law, Tammy & Tim Duncan of Jasper; daughter, Katie Cronan; brothers and sister-in-law, Thomas Cantrell, and Steven & Linda Cantrell; brother-in-law, Edlee & Sharon Wilkey; sister-in-law, Susie & Dale Chastain; special friend, Rhonda Roberts; nine grandchildren, Ben Duncan, J.T. Duncan, Salina Batt, Corey Batt, Seth Duncan, Mattie Cronan, Kaleb Cronan, Jacob Cronan, and Brayden Cronan, and five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Terry "Batman" Batt; father, Tom Cantrell; mother, Jean LaJoie; sisters, Jeanna Mills and Janice Cantrell.

Visitation is Tuesday, May 16 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm, Wednesday, 8:00 am until 9:00 pm, and Thursday, 8:00 am until the funeral service.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, May 18, 2023 at Cagle Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Steven Chapman and Rev. Joe Hightower officiating.

Interment will be at Sunrise Memorial Gardens following the funeral service.

Pallbearers: Ben Duncan, J.T. Duncan, Seth Duncan, Corey Batt, Jessie Cantrell, and Brandon Cantrell. Honorary pallbearers: Salina Batt, Mattie Cronan, Kaleb Cronan, Jacob Cronan, and Brayden Cronan.

The family will accept flowers, or donations can be made to Burnt Mountain Center in memory of Janice Cantrell.
