Anna Jewell Quinton Buchanan, or Nanny, as many lovingly called her, passed away Monday, July 3, 2023 at her residence.

Leaving behind memories of her love and a life lived helping others, Jewell was born on November 4, 1925 in Pickens County, Georgia to the late John and Melinda Russell Quinton.

Her family was most important to her, and she and her late husband Hallman Buchanan were parents to Pat Evans, Carol McArthur, and Jan Stracker, and her husband John. Also surviving are grandchildren Melanie McArthur Gibson and Steve, Jennifer Evans Walls and Jay, Deb Stracker Poch and Gary, and Matt and Lynne Stracker; and great grandchildren Christian and Abby Gibson, Olivia and Owen Walls, Maddie and Katherine Poch, and Sarah, Jack, and Emily Stracker. Jewell leaves behind her sister Katie Ailey of Maryville, Tennessee, and brothers-in-law Gene Buchanan and S.A. Denson. Many nieces and nephews, who she loved dearly, also survive.

As she requested, she was cremated and a private graveside service will be held at a later date.
