Mr. Jerry Barnes, age 70 of Hinton Community, passed away Saturday, August 27, 2022 at Manor Lake in Ellijay.

Mr. Barnes is survived by his wife, Marsha Barnes of Hinton; son and daughter-in-law, Brian & Hannah Barnes of Louisville, KY; daughter, Shelia Elrod of Hinton; brothers and sister-in-law, John B. Barnes Jr. of Hinton, and Jack & Sandy Barnes of Hinton; sister and brother-in-law, Linda & John McIntosh of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Ty Barnes, Zoe Barnes, Cora Barnes, and Madelyn Elrod; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation is at Cagle Funeral Home on Monday, August 29, 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm, Tuesday, 10:00 am until 9:00 pm, and Wednesday, 8:00 am until prior to the funeral service.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at Hinton United Methodist Church, with Rick Jasperse, Rev. Jim Schlicht, and Rev. Gerry Gleason officiating.

Interment will be at Hinton Community Cemetery, following the funeral service.

Pallbearers: Rob Jones, Billy Buckner, Steve Davis, Kevin Moss, Todd Dobson, Jason Cantrell, Dennis Ralston, and David Tippens. Honorary pallbearer: Mike Westmoreland.

The family will accept flowers or donations to Hinton United Methodist Church, Hinton Volunteer Fire Department, or Pickens County FFA Alumni.
