Janette H.
Walker
Mar 12, 1934 — Oct 1, 2025
McDonough
Janette Holcomb Walker, age 91, of McDonough, Georgia, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and devotion. Born in White Plains, GA, to the late Mr. Clyde Hershel Holcomb and Mrs. Adell Edwards Holcomb, Janette lived a life marked by grace, hard work, and unwavering faith.
A dedicated bookkeeper for many years, Janette was known not only for her meticulous nature but also for her boundless energy and love of the outdoors. She found joy in yard work and gardening, nurturing both plants and people with equal care. Her passion for walking took her miles and miles through neighborhoods and trails, always with a sense of purpose and peace.
Janette was lovingly known as "Grandmommie" to her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, a title she wore with pride and warmth. Her home was a haven of laughter, stories, and unconditional love. She shared countless adventures with her beloved husband, Jimmy L. Walker, traveling across the country in their RV, making memories that will live on in the hearts of those who knew them. Janette also loved spending time at her White Plains residence.
Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she cherished her church families at Peachtree Corners Baptist Church and Eagle's Landing Baptist Church. Janette's spirit of generosity and kindness touched everyone she met, and her devotion as a mother was unmatched—"the best mother a man could have."
Janette is survived by her sons, Brad (Cathy) Walker and Ken (Tammi) Walker; her grandchildren, Justin, Carson, Eli, Nathan, Ryan, Michael, Jamie, and Erin Walker; and her great-grandchildren, Liam, Vera, Crosby, Cade, Madelyn, Casen, and Luca, Elliott, Frances, Avery, and Carson Walker. She also leaves behind her dear sister, Vera Mercer.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jimmy L. Walker; her brothers, David and Richard Holcomb; and her sister, Geraldine Pate.
A Celebration of Janette's life will be conducted in the Robert A. Cagle memorial Chapel on Sunday, October 12, 2025 at 3:30 in the afternoon with the Rev. Preston Jones officiating. The family will receive friends at Cagle Funeral Home on Sunday, October 12 from 2:00 pm until the service hour.
