Obituary

Mr. James Willie Bannister, age 76, passed away at Wellstar Tranquility Hospice at Kennesaw Mountain on March 2, 2020. Jim was born on August 21, 1943, in Marble Hill, Georgia. He is preceded in death by his parents, E.A. Bannister and Lila White Bannister, his first wife of 25 years, Connie Farmer Bannister, and brother, Charles Harold Bannister.

Jim retired as Senior Vice President of Manufacturing in 2010 after a service career of 33 years with Arylessence, Inc. of Marietta, Georgia.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Becky Whitfield Bannister of Kennesaw, GA; son, James (Andrea) Bannister of Temple, GA; daughter, Christy (Ronny) Wilkerson of Harrisburg, NC, grandchildren, Jordan Bannister of Pendleton, SC, Adam Wilkerson and Brooke Wilkerson of Harrisburg, NC, and Rachel Gross and Sam Gross of Kennesaw, GA; brother, Elijah (Helen) Bannister of Jasper, GA; sisters, Sue Bannister Lawson of Acworth, GA; Ina Lou Bannister Conley of Cumming, GA; and Martha Bannister and Howard Cook of Marietta, GA; sister-in-law, Willie Grace Fletcher Bannister of Ball Ground, GA, and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, March 7, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. at Jasper United Methodist Church, with visitation before the service at 10:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Jasper United Methodist Church, 85 West Church Street, Jasper, Georgia 30143.
