Helen "Missy" Cagle

Helen "Missy" Cagle, age 84, passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord on the morning of March 31, 2021, with her sister and granddaughter lovingly by her side. Born on February 8, 1937, Helen lived a life defined by devotion—to her family, her community, her work, and above all, her faith.

Helen was the longtime owner of Cagle Funeral Home, where she worked faithfully beside her beloved husband, Bob, for many years until his passing. Together, they served countless families with compassion, grace, and unwavering care. Her work with the families she served was precious to her. She cared for each person entrusted to her with the utmost respect and tenderness anyone could ever receive. There wasn't a family who came through Cagle Funeral Home that she did not honor fully, giving each the same heartfelt attention and deep respect. Helen continued that legacy with the same wholehearted dedication that marked every part of her life. To those who knew her, Helen was a loving and steadfast wife, mother, grandmother ("Missy"), sister, employer, and friend. Her love for the Lord radiated through her words, her actions, and the gentle way she cared for others. She was the kind of person whose presence brought warmth and light the moment she entered a room. Nothing she did was ever half‑hearted—especially when it came to loving her family, her friends, and her God. Helen's soul was one of the purest, and she gave endlessly of herself to her children and grandchildren. She was gentle in the way only a mother can be, and she shared a deep, unwavering love with her husband, Bob—the truest of true partnerships. Her absence is felt not simply as a loss, but as the ache of missing home. She was light, love, and all the best things a person could be.

Helen is survived by her sons, David Cagle; Kenny Lowe of Waleska; Keith & Anita Lowe of Chatsworth; daughters and sons‑in‑law, Cathy & Johnny Clark of Jasper, and Becky & William Mullins of Hill City; her brother, Randy Long of Fruithurst, AL; sisters and brother‑in‑law, Brenda & Emory Evans of the Hinton Community, and Judy Carlan of the Hinton Community; thirteen grandchildren; thirteen great‑grandchildren; and her cherished "sidekick," Phyllis Girard of Tate.

Visitation will be held Friday, April 2, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and Saturday, April 3, from 10:00 AM until the funeral hour.

Funeral services will take place at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 3, 2021, in the Chapel of Cagle Funeral Home, with Pastor Ithiel Jones, Dr. Kenneth Meadors, and Rev. Butch Lark officiating.

Entombment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be present and former employees of Cagle Funeral Home, a testament to the many lives she touched through her work.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Helen's memory to Georgia Mountains Hospice, 70 Caring Way, Jasper, GA 30143.
