Geneva T. Dorsey, age 103, of Jasper, Georgia, passed away Saturday, October 11th, 2025, surrounded by her family. Born in the Sharon Community of Cumming, Georgia, Geneva was the daughter of Mr. Jim and Lizzie Gravitt Thompson.

Geneva's life was filled with love for her family, especially her grand, great grand and great-great grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling and dining at "good" restaurants. Professionally, she served as a supervisor at H. D. Lee and was a dedicated member of the Grand Chapter of Georgia and its local chapter, OES Chapter 479. Her passion for sewing continued throughout her life, as she assisted residents at Pruitt Healthcare of Jasper, Georgia with their alterations.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John "Shorty" Dorsey; sister, Wynell Bush; brother, Shorty Thompson; and son, Jim Dorsey, and his wife Janet. Geneva is survived by her son, Doug Dorsey, and wife Pam; grandchildren Tuesday Hammontree and husband Craig, Bo Dorsey and wife Kelley, Melinda Dorsey; great-grandchildren Sam Hammontree, John Daniel Dorsey, Kerri Lee Dorsey, Lyndsey Logan and wife Vickey Jones-Logan, Taylor Logan; great-great-grandchildren Bentley Logan, Joshua Hendricks, Arianna Hendricks, Mylah Logan, Jolene Logan; and many extended family members and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Geneva's name to the Grand Chapter of Georgia, Local Chapter of the OES Chapter 479, 139 Old Federal Road, Jasper, GA 30143, or to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.

The family will receive friends at Cagle Funeral Home on Sunday, October 12th, 2025, from 11am until 8pm, and Monday, October 13th, 2025, from 9am until the funeral service at 11am in the Robert A. Cagle Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens beside her husband.
