Mr. Charles McCoy, affectionately known as Gene, passed away on November 6, 2024. Born on October 1, 1967, to Mr. Charles McCoy and Mrs. Shirley McCoy, Gene's life was filled with love, laughter, and a passion for all things that brought joy to his heart.

Gene was married to the love of his life, and together they shared countless cherished moments. From casino adventures and flea market finds to serene mountain trips, Gene's dedication to making his beloved happy was evident in everything they did. In their later years, Gene was his wife's caretaker, tenderly looking after her until she went to her heavenly home. Their bond was a testament to true love and companionship.

A true car enthusiast, Gene had a particular fondness for old cars, especially his 1966 Chevelle and SS Nova. His eyes would light up whenever he talked about or worked on these classic beauties, showcasing his deep appreciation for the craftsmanship and history they represented. Gene was known for his infectious happiness and wonderful sense of humor. He always had a smile on his face and a joke to share, bringing laughter and joy to everyone around him. His ability to make people laugh and smile was a gift that left a lasting impression on all who knew him. He adored his dog, Daisy, who brought him immense joy and companionship. Let us hold onto the memories of his warmth, kindness, and unwavering love. His legacy lives on in the laughter he inspired and the love he gave so freely.

Gene is preceded in death by his wife, Melissa Rampley McCoy, father, Charles McCoy and his sister, Tina McCoy.

He is survived by his mother, Shirley McCoy, brother, Jerry Wade McCoy, sisters, Teresa McCoy, Gail Freeman, Wendy (Raymond) Carlile and Amy (Adam) Padgett. Gene is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Cagle Funeral Home on Thursday November 7, 2024, from five in the evening until nine at night and Friday November 8, 2024, from ten in the morning until the service hour.

Gene's funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of Cagle Funeral Home on Friday November 8, 2024, at 2 o'clock with Rev. Mike Harris officiating. Interment will follow the service at Lake Forest Memorial Park.

The family deeply appreciates your support during this difficult time and will be accepting flowers.
