It is with great sadness that Cagle Funeral Home announces the loss of Mr. Edward Hamrick, who left this world peacefully at home April 2, 2024.

Edward was born September 18, 1933 to Mr. Athel Ray Hamrick and Mamie L. Tanner in Cleburne, Alabama. Edward was an industrial machine mechanic at Sewell Manufacturing for many years. Throughout the years he enjoyed working on his farm, growing vegetables of all sorts, taking care of the farm animals and cat fishing. He had the best spring water around, welcoming friends and family to stop by to fill their water jugs. He even made a water ladle with a coconut shell because everyone said that it made the water taste even better.

Edward was a devoted husband to his wife for 69 loving years, never letting the sun go down mad at one another. He was a caring father to three daughters, singing, taking random vacations and always taking care of his family.

He was greeted in heaven by his parents and his sister, Burneace Alfred.

His memory lives on with his wife, Vera Hamrick, daughters; Pat Tarver, Carolyn Ashton, and Linda Hamrick, grandchildren, Katie & Sam Wilson and Lianne Ashton.

A funeral service for Edward will be held on Thursday April 4, 2024 at 1 o'clock in the afternoon in the chapel of Cagle Funeral Home with Rev. Thomas Clay officiating.

Interment will follow after the funeral service at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at Cagle Funeral Home on Wednesday April 4, 2024 at 5 o'clock in the afternoon until nine.
