Douglas Padgett, age 83, of Ball Ground, Georgia, passed away on April 10, 2026. He was born on May 1, 1942, to the late John Padgett and Lillie Bell Burdine Padgett.

Doug spent his life working hard and fixing anything he could get his hands on. He worked seven days a week until his body simply couldn't anymore. If something was broken, Doug wanted to make it right — cars, small engines, tools, whatever it was, he was ready to tinker. Being the family's, "Mr. Fix It" wasn't just something he did; it was who he was. He loved driving his old town car around, and he especially loved the days he spent working side by side with his son, Chris. Even when they were working, it was still time together, and that meant everything to him.

He is preceded in death by his parents and all of his brothers and sisters.

Doug is survived by his sons and daughter‑in‑law, Chris and Cindy Padgett, and Jeff Padgett; his grandchildren, Amanda (Jesse) Ramirez, Robert Padgett, Adam Padgett, and Kimberly Camacho; and his 18 great‑grandchildren, who will forever cherish his steady hands, his big heart, and the way he could fix just about anything.

The family will receive friends at Cagle Funeral Home on Sunday, April 12, 2026, from 1:00 PM–4:00 PM.

Doug's funeral service will be held in the Robert A. Cagle Memorial Chapel on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at 4:00 PM, with Rev. Max Padgett officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
