Douglas "Doug" Kirby, 80, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 7, 1946, in Dawsonville, Georgia, to the late Winston and Iller Kirby.

Doug spent more than 45 years with the love of his life, Joan, and together they built a beautiful life and family. He was known and loved by everyone who met him. Big‑hearted, generous, and full of life, Doug would give you the shirt off his back without a second thought. He never met a stranger, and his warm personality, humor, and kindness made him unforgettable. He had many friends, and he cherished every one of them. A true go‑getter, Doug was always on the move, and it was hard for anyone to keep up with him. He knew everything there was to know about building a house and took great pride in his work. Doug loved the Lord, and he was ready to go Home to be reunited with his girls and the family he missed so dearly.

Doug is survived by his sons, David Kirby, Dwayne Kirby, and Dion Kirby; his daughters, Rhonda Kirby, Wendy Kirby, Tracey Kirby, and Kimberly Kirby; 13 grandchildren; 5 great‑grandchildren; and many other beloved family members and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Joan Kirby; his son, Donald Kirby; his daughter, Kelly Kirby; his grandson, Jacob Kirby; his parents; and his brothers and sisters.

The family will receive friends at Cagle Funeral Home on Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 12:00–4:00 p.m. A memorial service honoring Doug's life will follow at 4:00 p.m. in The Robert A. Cagle Memorial Chapel, with Scottie Blackwell officiating.
