"Papa Dolly"

It is with great sadness Cagle Funeral Home announces the passing of Mr. Dennis Terrell Hughes, of Forsyth County, Georgia, who went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 4, 2024 with his family lovingly by his side at the age of 77.

Papa Dolly was born to Mr. Avon Hughes and Ms. Paulette Walls Hughes on June 14, 1946. He was a hard worker and lived a simple kind of life full of love. He was funny, had his own way of doing things, stubborn as a mule, but had the most generous heart. He loved his chickens, riding four-wheelers (Grandma's four-wheeler), fishing, his land & lake, but most of all he loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They brought him so much joy. He will be remembered for all the heart he shared with his friends and family. He loved each one of them-and if you knew him, you knew it. In return everyone who knew Papa Dolly loved him wholeheartedly as well.

He was greeted in Heaven by his parents, son, Tommy Lee Hughes, brother, Jerry Hughes, sisters; Regina Bennett & Nancy Sitton.

His memory will now live on with his wife of 50 years, Janice Hughes, daughter, Michelle Lane, brother, Stephen & Kathy Hughes, grandchildren; Loren Aaron, Heather & Travis Garner, Jacob & Casey Lane, great-grandchildren; Scarlett Yarger & Cody Wood, Camron Denson, Judd & Dane Garner and Maverick Lane.

A private memorial service will be held for Papa Dolly at his favorite place, his lake.
