Mr. Dennis Rafael Chumley, beloved husband, father, Papa Den and brother, has fallen asleep in Jesus, on July 31, 2024, at the age of 65. He was born in Tate, Georgia on May 28, 1959, to the Late Mr. Elbert and Mrs. Shirley Chumley.

Dennis was a dedicated Navy veteran and hardworking construction worker for 17 years and shared 38 wonderful years with the love of his life Cherie. Dennis was a man of many interests. He enjoyed playing drums, fishing and collecting guitars. He was also a member of the NRA and had a passion for working on cars and football. Dennis loved to cook and went all out for Thanksgiving, a holiday he cherished for bringing family and friends together. His home was always open to friends who came to hang out, eat and share in his love of life. He was a devoted Southern Baptist and found solace in his faith and love for Jesus. Dennis's legacy of love, hard work, and passion for life will be remembered by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Cherie Chumley, sons, Jesse (Dawn Marie) Chumley, Donnie Chumley, grandchildren, Rose Marie-Quinn Chumley, Clover Chumley, sister, Cathy (Michael) McDaniel, brother, Allen Chumley, nieces, Angel Mitchell, Krystal Buttrum, nephew, Lee Chumley, great-nieces, Jazzlyn Buttrum, Kailee Foster, Aurora Mitchell, Chloe Chumley, great-nephews, Joshua Chumley. Several other family members and friends who became family also survive to cherish Dennis' memory.

He is preceded in death by his parents and nephew Joshua Buttrum.

The family will receive friends at Cagle Funeral Home on Sunday, August 4, 2024, from two o'clock in the afternoon until eight at night and Monday, August 5, 2024, from nine in the morning until the service hour.

Dennis's funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of Cagle Funeral Home on Monday August 5, 2024, at 10 o'clock in the morning with Pastor Mihail Caciu officiating. Interment will follow directly after the service at Georgia National Cemetery.
