Debbie
Goss
Oct 25, 1955 — Dec 30, 2025
Ms. Debbie Goss, age 70, of Talking Rock, Georgia, passed away on December 30, 2025. She was born on October 25, 1955, in Canton, Georgia, to the late Jack Godfrey and Ida Belle Reynolds.
Debbie was a devoted wife to her late husband, James Goss Jr., with whom she shared 42 years of love, hard work, and family. Known affectionately as "Bull," Debbie was a homebody at heart, happiest when surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She loved their visits and the laughter they brought into her home. A dedicated seamstress for many years, Debbie took great pride in her work and truly loved to sew. She was a simple woman who found joy in the everyday things—catching good sales at the grocery stores around town, keeping her shelves stocked with Dr. Pepper and Reese's, and sharing her honest, straightforward way of speaking. Debbie had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh; if someone took a tumble, she was sure to laugh first and help second. Her lighthearted spirit will be remembered by all who knew her. Debbie was a member of Woodstock Church of Jasper and cherished her faith and family deeply.
She is preceded in death by her parents, as well as her brothers and sisters.
Her absence will be deeply felt by her surviving family: Her children, Shane (Anna) Godfrey, Rhonda (Jeff) Waggoner, Jamie (Alyssa) Goss, Wanda (Richard) Jones, Patty Goss, Carol (Keith) McNeese, and Joe (Laura) Goss; 24 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; her brother, David Godfrey; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Cagle Funeral Home on Friday, January 2, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and again on Saturday, January 3, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
Debbie's funeral service will be held in the Robert A. Cagle Memorial Chapel on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. with Doug Godfrey officiating. Interment will follow at Ponders Cemetery in Canton, Georgia.
Serving as pallbearers will be Wyatt Godfrey, Camdin Montgomery, Luke Waggoner, Cody Goss, Joseph Goss, Sam Waggoner, Justin McAllister, and Keith Totherow. Nate Waggoner will serve as honorary pallbearer.
