Mr. David Anderson Thomas, age 70, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 14, 2025, surrounded by brother Mark E. Thomas and caregiver / best friend Michelle Reed at his residence in the Bent Tree, Ga. David was born on Thursday, April 8, 1954, to the late Dr. Paul O. Thomas and Dorothy Anderson Thomas, in Stuart, Florida. David graduated from Martin County High School in 1973.

From 1975 – 1988 David was a offshore marine boat captain carrying supplies and crew members to oil rigs starting in the  Gulf of Mexico. He then went all over the world, including Egypt, Kuwait, Brazil, and Alaska touring oil rig jacks.  David lived a life full of adventure and cherished memories. He found joy in fishing, traveling for golf trips, and both water and snow skiing. David also worked for 20 years in the maintenance department of Bent Tree golf course where he made many friends and was able to pursue is love of golf, a passion for which he had all of his life.

David was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Paul O. Thomas III. He leaves behind a loving family who will deeply miss him: his brother, Mark E. Thomas, of Bent Tree: sister Ann Fuller and Terry McClure, of Copperhill, Tennessee and his dearest friend and caregiver, Michelle Reed, Bent Tree; first cousins Jerry Thomas, of Savannah, Georgia; Sue Townsend, of Anniston, Alabama; Dr Stuart Thomas, of Athens, Georgia; and many loving friends in the Bent Tree Golf Community. David's warmth and passion for life will forever be remembered by those who knew and loved him.
