David
Folk
Aug 31, 1955 — Oct 14, 2025
Madison
David Folk, age 70, of Madison, Alabama, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2025. Born on August 31, 1955, to Donald and Penny Folk, Dave lived a life full of purpose, kindness, and unwavering faith.
He held a PhD and served as a minister, but more than titles, Dave was known for the way he cared—with his whole heart. He spent 15 years at OSHA, followed by 14 years at Redstone Arsenal in the AMC headquarters, always proud of the work he did to help keep our military safe. The U.S Army Material Command develops and delivers material readiness solutions to ensure globally dominant land force capabilities. Headquartered at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama.
Dave adored his wife, Marsha. Their love was the kind you could feel just by being around them. There was always a vase of fresh flowers on their table, and he loved cooking for her. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, faith, and family.
He was a devoted father and grandfather—the kind of dad and papa everyone wished they had. He never missed a game or a big moment, and when he couldn't be there in person, he made sure the TV was on so he could cheer from afar. That was Dave—always showing up, always giving.
He had a soft spot for those in need. Dave kept food, clothes, and a little cash in his car, just in case he came across someone who needed help. And more than once, he gave the shirt off his back—literally. That's just who he was.
His faith carried him through everything, especially his battle with cancer. He faced it with strength, humor, and the same love he gave to everyone around him. As he always said to his dad, "Cancer sucks." And in the end, it didn't win.
Dave is survived by his beloved wife, Marsha Folk; his sons, Jay (Tennille), Shane (Sarah), and Trevis; his daughter, Jamie (Ken); and his grandchildren, Riley, Beckett, Hunter, Eliza, Mick, Hank, Angel, Dayana, Cami and Daniela. He also leaves behind his brothers, Gary and Terry, and his sister, Cindy. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Eric Folk.
The family will receive friends at Legacy Chapel Funeral Home in Madison, AL, on Sunday, October 19, 2025 from 10 in the morning until 11. A funeral service will follow the visitation at the funeral home.
Dave will be interred at Madison Memory Gardens, Madison, AL, following the service.
