Mr. Clayton Jackson Kernea passed away unexpectedly on June 15, 2024 at the age of 31. Clay was born in Alpharetta, Georgia to Mr. Robert Jackson Kernea and Ms. Tammy Gilbert Kernea on February 7,1993.

Clay was a loving son, grandson, father, brother and friend. He was a member of Boiling Springs Baptist Church, Clay dedicated much of his time in Walk With Angels nonprofit organization. He loved to help people and would take the shirt off his back to anyone in need. Clay enjoyed working on cars, hunting, fishing, camping and swimming. He had an uncanny artist talent for drawing and writing, he also loved to cook, not only learning recipes, but making memories in the kitchen with his family.

He is survived by his son, Rhett Dawson, parents, Robert and Tammy Kernea, brother, Dustin Kernea, sister, Katy Rutledge, grandparents, Bob and Judy Kernea, James and Peggy Gilbert, and great grandmother, Alice Foster. Several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as his best friend, Sweetie also survive to cherish his memory.

The family will receive friends at Cagle Funeral Home on Wednesday June 19, from four o'clock in afternoon until eight in the evening and Thursday, June 20 from ten in the morning until the service hour. Clay's funeral service will be held in the chapel of Cagle Funeral Home Thursday, June 20 at 12 noon with Elder Randall Cagle officiating. Interment will follow directly after at Boiling Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family deeply appreciates your support during this difficult time and will be accepting flowers or memorial donations may be made to the nonprofit organization Walks With Angels in memory of Clay Kernea.
