It is with a heavy heart that Cagle Funeral Home announces the loss of Mr. Charles Bunion Word III of Mableton, Georgia. He left this world on May 16, 2024 at the age of 71.

Chick was born to Mr. Charles Bunion Word II and Ina Glynnis Lecroy Word in Austell, Georgia on September 15, 1952. He spent a great deal of his time driving trucks, but had an amazing artistic talent for charcoal drawings, making models of historical events, Civil War reenactments and playing guitar, traveling to various states playing backup for Ted Nudgent, opening shows for Bob Segar & Fleetwood Mac and winning dozens of Battle Of The Bands competitions. He even made an appearance in the movie The Million Dollar Dixie Deliverance. His greatest accomplishment though, was being a strong, loving Dad and Pawpaw.

His memory will now live on with his daughter, Heather and Will Phillips, brother, Terry and Tabra Word, sister, Debbie Word and grandchildren, Hunter, Gracin and Madison Phillips.

The family will receive friends at Cagle Funeral Home on Sunday May, 19, 2024 from one in the evening until five.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
