Charles Edward Ray, age 96, of Talking Rock, GA, passed away on November 22, 2024. Born on July 23, 1928, in Alcoa, Tennessee, to Henry and Bonnie Ray, Edward lived a long and fulfilling life marked by love, dedication, and service.

Edward married his beloved wife, Jeanette, on August 6, 1949, and together they shared 64 wonderful years, blessed with two children, four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Their marriage was a testament to enduring love and partnership.

A dedicated member of his community, Edward was a longstanding member of Talking Rock Baptist Church since 1941, where his faith was a cornerstone of his life. He was also a proud member of the Blaine Masonic Lodge since November 4, 1950, and the Plumbers, Pipefitters Local 72 since July 1, 1952, exemplifying his commitment to his craft and fellowship.

Edward's legacy is one of love, faith, and devotion to his family and community. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His contributions and the memories he leaves behind will forever be cherished.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother, George Ray and sisters, Juanita Moraitakis and Betty Sitten.

He is survived by his son, Steve Ray and wife Karen, daughter, Elaine Bishop and husband Billy, grandchildren, Teresa (Robert) Crain, Susan (Damion) Vaughan, Stephanie (Kirk) Butcher, John (Megan) Ray, great-grandchildren, Abby Vaughan, Tyler Vaughan, Aubree Crain, Shane Butcher and Slade Butcher, brother, Howard Ray and sister, Linda Tenny, as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Cagle Funeral Home on Saturday November 23, 2024, from 11:30 in the morning until 1:30 in the afternoon.

Edward's funeral service will be conducted at Talking Rock Baptist Church on Saturday November 23, 2024, at two in the afternoon with Rev. Buck Parker and Rev. Bobby McFarland officiating.
