Mrs. Carolyn Ann Abernathy Green of Alpharetta, GA, passed away peacefully at home Thursday, March 25, 2021, surrounded by her family, following a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Green is survived by her Son & Daughter-in-Law: Joseph Doil and Michele Brown Green of Atlanta, GA. Daughter: Brenda Lynn Green Thomas of Cumming, GA. Sister and Brother-in-Law: Joyce and Jimmy Dell of Macon, GA. Brothers-in-Law: Jack Green of Tyrone, GA, Joe Green and Wife Barbara of Riverdale, GA. Sister-in-Law: Pat Hall and Husband Steve of Big Canoe, GA. Sister-in-Law: Melba Abernathy of Alpharetta, GA. Granddaughters: Christi Thomas Gilbert and Husband John of Dawsonville, GA and Breanna Thomas Kittrell and Husband Todd of Alpharetta, GA. Great Grandson: Michael Gilbert, Great Granddaughters: Hadley Gilbert and Addison Kittrell.
Several nieces, nephews, and very special friends also survive including Miki Skelton and her son Charlie of Savannah, GA
Carolyn and her husband Gene lived in several different cities and states during the almost 44 years of marriage. During that time, she earned the title of being one of the best cooks EVER! While raising two children of their own, and before they had their precious grandchildren, they took gentle, loving care of more than 25 newborn foster babies who were being placed for adoption.
Carolyn is preceded in death by her Husband: Eugene J Green. Parents: Joseph Robert and Margaret Ellen Abernathy. Brother: Bubba Abernathy, Father-in-Law and Mother-in-Law: Jasper Doil and Gertrude Green of Jasper, GA.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will be no community visitation. Instead, the immediate family will gather graveside at Sunrise Memorial Gardens at 12:30 PM on Monday, March, 29, 2021 to honor Aunt Carolyn's life. Chaplain Larry Haron officiating.
