Obituary

Carol Ann Opdenhoff, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2025 at the age of 87. She was born on July 8, 1937 in Clarkston, Michigan, a daughter of the late Elmer and Mable Collins.


Carol was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Charles Andrew Opdenhoff. She was a long-time member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Jasper, Georgia where she faithfully served in the children's church ministries. Carol was a volunteer with Keep Pickens Beautiful and Habitat for Humanity. She also served as the Mayor of Talking Rock, and was an active community member. Carol was also a homemaker who enjoyed crafts, puzzles, music, birds, and spending time with her family.


She is survived by two daughters Cheryl Woodall (Tim) of Waleska; and Mary Clark of Kennesaw; brother Jim Collins; three grandsons Zachary Clark, Nicholas Mechigian, and Nathaniel Clark; and two great-granddaughters Ruth and Elise Clark.


The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, May 15, 2025, at Cagle Funeral Home in Jasper, GA with Reverend Ben Mock officiating. Interment will follow at Lake Forest Memorial Park.
