Robert John Mullen, (81), of Ellijay GA suffered a stroke and passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2024.

Robert, fondly known as "The Man", "Too Cool", "Dad", "Papa" and "Bob" was born in Norristown, PA on 9/11/1942.

Bob was a proud United States Army Veteran who served in Vietnam as a (MP) Military Police, a Police Officer for Maryland State, Baltimore City, Bel Air, MD and retired as a MD Natural Resources Police Officer. He was a member of Mt. Ararat Lodge No. 44 A. F. & A. M. of Bel Air, Maryland.

Bob was a fierce protector especially for those he loved.  Loyal to a fault, Bob had some deep friendships that spanned decades.  He is known to be the "best friend" of many.  His granddaughter wrote a beautiful letter for a Veterans Day Celebration at her school that was chosen as the best tribute to be read aloud for all to hear…of course it was about her Papa…our HERO!

Bob is survived by his wife Jean Mullen, daughter Michelle Mullen Dodd (husband Steven), grandson, Steven Dodd (wife Julie), granddaughters, Madeline and Madison Dodd, great granddaughters, Juniper and Aspen Dodd.  Bob was predeceased by his parents, Bill and Betty Mullen.  Bob is also survived by a host of great friends and extended family.

Bob loved all things outdoors.  He loved traveling with his wife, Jean of 20 years on his Harley Davidson Motorcycle all over the US and riding to Canada just to get a T-Shirt!  His love of hunting, camping, paddling canoes, riding ATV's, fishing-especially fly fishing, shooting guns and listening to great music (The Eagles) or to the rushing water sounds from the Cartacay River from his mountain cabin front porch are some of his favorite pastimes.  He taught his daughter and granddaughters some of these skills and made so many memories with friends and family living his best life while enjoying these fun hobbies.
