Billy Wayne
Hawkins
Mar 5, 1958 — Apr 13, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mr. Wayne Hawkins of Jasper, Georgia, on April 13, 2025. Born in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, to the late Billy Ray Hawkins and Estelle Nunley Hawkins, Wayne was a man who truly lived life to the fullest and left an indelible mark on everyone who knew him.
Wayne was a hard worker, proud of everything he set his hands to. Alongside his beloved wife, he ran a cherished produce stand in town, offering the community the finest fruits, vegetables, Christmas trees, pumpkins, and boiled peanuts. Gardening brought him joy, and he tended his plants with the same care and devotion that he gave to his family and friends. His dreams were as big as his heart, from imagining a ginseng farm to dreaming of a bar in the Bahamas. But his greatest dream and accomplishment was his family. He adored his wife, daughters, and grandchildren, who were the center of his world. Jaxson, his best friend among his grandkids, shared a special bond with him, though Wayne loved to tell every grandchild that they were his favorite. Wayne had a passion for hunting, fishing, and making people laugh. His sense of humor was unmatched, and he could lighten any moment with his wit. Stubborn yet sentimental, he was a man of his word and someone you could count on, as long as you treated him right. He enjoyed a good margarita, didn't mind having his toenails painted by his daughters, and embraced the beautiful quirks and unexpected joys that life had to offer. Above all, Wayne's family was his everything. He lived and loved with all his heart, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, kindness, and cherished memories that will endure forever.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Alan Hawkins and his grandchildren, Willow Hawkins and Zaria Hawkins.
His loss will be deeply felt by his surviving family, Darlene Hawkins, daughters, Amber Hawkins, Jessica Hawkins, Bianca Hawkins, grandchildren, Jayce Hawkins, Logan Hawkins, Jaxson Hawkins, Josiah (Hawkins) Kugbila, sisters, Debrah King, and Teresa Ray.
The family will receive friends at Cagle Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, from two in the afternoon until nine at night and Thursday, April 17, 2025, from 10 in the morning until the service hour.
Wayne's funeral service will be conducted in the Robert A. Cagle Memorial Chapel on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at two in the afternoon with testimonies of love from his family.
