Betty Jo Rodgers, 85, of Smyrna, Georgia, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on May 7, 1940, in Georgia to the late Harry Wingard and Carrie Totherow Wingard, Betty Jo lived a life defined by devotion, kindness, and quiet strength.

A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Betty Jo poured her heart into her family and community. Whether she was driving the school bus, caring for neighborhood children, or working at Sears—where she proudly retired—Betty Jo was always in motion, always giving, and always present. Her steady presence and warm spirit made her a cherished figure in the lives of many.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Doyle Rodgers, and by Nancy Smith. She leaves behind her children, Jeffrey (Erica), Donna (Bobby), and Steve (Lori); grandchildren, Allison, Marilyn, Ryan, Shelley, and Kevin; and great-grandchildren, Riley and Dawson—all of whom will carry her memory with love and pride.

Betty Jo will be remembered for her kind heart, her unwavering dedication to those she loved, and the quiet grace with which she lived her life. Her legacy lives on in the stories shared, the lives she touched, and the family she nurtured.

The family will receive friends at Cagle Funeral Home in Jasper, Georgia, on Thursday, September 4, 2025, from 12:00 noon until the service hour. A funeral service honoring Betty Jo's life will be conducted in the chapel of Cagle Funeral Home at 2:00 PM, followed by interment at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Jasper.
