Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Ms. Barbara Jean Jones Cline, who departed this life on Sunday, June 22, 2025, at the age of 85.

Born on May 9,1940, Barbara was the only child of the late J.B. Jones and Gertrude Lawson Jones, of Marble Hill. A proud and lifelong resident of Pickens County, Barbara was the valedictorian of Pickens High School's first graduating class and a shining example of strength, grace, and unwavering faith. Barbara lived a life rooted in love, service, and devotion. A faithful Christian, she was a gifted organist and pianist, often using her talents to uplift others in worship. As a dedicated prayer warrior and member of Shiloh Baptist Church, Barbara's faith carried her through life and touched all who knew her. She attended North Georgia College and began her professional career as executive secretary to the president of Georgia Marble Company's Tate Division. She also brought her warmth and professionalism to Amicalola Membership Corporation and NW Home Health. In 1965, she married the late P.A. Cline Jr., and together they raised two children, John Paul Cline of Jasper and the late Anna Jean Cline. Barbara's love for her family, especially her son and grandsons, was unmatched, as they were the center of her life. Her son, John, continually cared for her after the passing of his father, along with the staff at the Lodge at Stephens Lake.  Barbara was simple in her ways but full of quiet elegance. She found joy in her pink roses, heartfelt phone conversations, and the company of friends and family. Her kindness, loyalty, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed. Barbara's memory will live on in the lives she touched and the love she gave so freely. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, family, and heartfelt devotion.

Barbara's absence will be deeply felt by her surviving family, son, John Cline, grandchildren, Zach and Seth Cline, and Ava Venet. Several nieces and nephews, a host of new and lifelong friends, and friends that became family, also survive to cherish Barbara's memory.

The family will receive friends at Cagle Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, from four in the afternoon until eight at night and Wednesday, June 25, from 10 in the morning until the service hour.

Barbara's funeral service will be conducted in the Robert A. Cagle Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at two in the afternoon with Rev. Ben Langley officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Dusty Eaton, Mike Echols, Randy Johnson, Bill Jordan, Michael White and Tony Ramirez. Interment will follow directly after the service at Mica Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family deeply appreciates your support during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Mica Baptist Church Cemetery fund.
