Ms. Addie Marie Hammontree Pratt, age 88, of Jasper, Georgia, passed away on July 2, 2026, with her daughters by her side. She was born in Jasper on July 19, 1937, to the late Cicero Benjamin Hammontree and Clara Mae Fann Hammontree.

Addie was a strong, independent woman who raised her girls on her own during a time when that wasn’t common. But she did it, and she did it well. Her strength showed in the way she loved, the way she worked, and the way she carried herself through every season of life.

She was an artist at heart. Addie loved painting and photography, especially landscapes. They were her niche, her way of capturing the quiet beauty she saw in the world. Saturday mornings were her favorite. She spent them at the farmers market, selling her paintings, talking with friends, and picking out fresh vegetables to take home. It was a place where she felt connected, inspired, and happy.

Addie is preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Frances Huffman; and her brother and sister‑in‑law, Curtis and Grace Hammontree.

She is survived by her daughters, Suzy Davis and Jean Prather; her husband, Jerome Bruce Pratt; her sister, Hilda Sheets; and her brother and sister‑in‑law, Charles and Joyce Hammontree.

The family will be receiving friends at Cagle Funeral Home on Friday, July 3, 2026, from 12:00 PM until 8:00 PM; again on Saturday, July 4, 2026, from 12:00 PM until 8:00 PM; and on Sunday, July 5, 2026, from 8:00 AM until the service hour.

Addie’s funeral service will be held in The Robert A. Cagle Memorial Chapel on Sunday, July 5, 2026, at 11:00 AM, with Rev. Chris White officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Union Baptist Church in Dawsonville.
